Dear Steve,
Last night, I was hanging out with a friend, and the topic of "Copperhead Road" came up. Well, it didn't really come up so much as I intentionally brought it up because I like talking about it because I like you. Do you like me? Check yes or no. Or tell me to take a breath on Twitter. Or make me your eighth wife. Your call.
Anyway. So we were talking about how there is the verse about moonshine that ends in disappearance, the verse about the next generation of whiskey-running that ends in a fiery crash, and there's the verse about the next generation growing pot and the DEA raid and Vietnam flashbacks. It feels unfinished. There's a new generation by now. We think it ought to be updated with a verse that ends in a meth lab explosion.
I think it's a solid idea. Let me know if you need help writing it, and I'll go visit my old apartment complex for some inspiration.
Thanks for your time!
Love,
Jane
