The earthquake. I didn't really feel it. I woke up at 4 am, because the dog went nuts, and I shushed him and went back to sleep, only to wake up an hour later to a brazillion texts and tweets about it. Wrecks had been awake all night and all night the night before. Not barking or misbehaving, just awake, quietly pacing around the perimeter of my bed. Friends have suggested that he was feeling some tension related to our new situation, even suggesting medicating him for awhile, something that made sense to me at the time.
But last night, he slept like a baby, without the help of Benadryl, curled up all sweet and cuddly right next to me. I've decided he's a wee little seismograph, not a relationship expert.

Been hearing and reading a lot of gossip about the BMARA/Angell Park Speedway split. Don't look to me to spread the gossip or discuss it much. I'm definitely keeping my distance. I'm not for or against or loyal to either club, I'm mostly just sad. Because I'm trying to imagine next Labor Day weekend, with two midget races thirty miles apart, splitting a field that was already suffering. I'm trying to imagine five or ten years from now, driving past the condos and convenience stores in Sun Prairie and pointing out to people that the site used to be the home of Angell Park Speedway.
Not cool, guys.

Speaking of racing, the race that I was at in Tulsa in mid-January will be broadcast on SPEED on Saturday night. "My guy" is in a red number 6 car in one of the C mains, which is about where I expect the broadcast will start.

If you're an Illinois resident contemplating a furnace change, get on it. There is a "cash for clunkers" style program that can get you even more money back in addition to the federal tax credit, but only for as long as there is funding left for the program. Call your HVAC dude, if I'm not him. If you need help finding one in your area, let me know and I'll make some recommendations.
